This experiential, emotional piece is the first to explore duality. It documents the uncertainty, fear and numbing when a critical illness grips a loved one with an urgency to live richly for the now.

Stylistically, the work pays homage to three famous Georges: De Chirico (with a metaphysical commentary on the enigma of life), Braque and Seurat.

Set in a town square, a manikin floats on a journey haunted by a dark shadow. Cubist symbolism of wine and song lay scattered as if the party may be over. Faceless onlookers remain impervious. In the distance the City lies left behind with a reappraisal of priorities.
